Angus Reid
Angus Reid is a leader in the market research industry with a career spanning over three decades. From 1979 to 2001, he was founder and CEO of the Angus Reid Group. Under his direction, the company grew into one of the largest research enterprises in North America.

From 1979 to 2001 Dr. Reid was founder and CEO of the Angus Reid Group, a marketing research supplier. Under his direction, the company grew into the largest research enterprise in Canada, with North American revenues of $60 million. It was sold to Paris based Ipsos SA in 2000.
Currently, Angus Reid is President and CEO of Angus Reid Consultants, a Vancouver-based marketing and public affairs consultancy. He also serves as a Senior Fellow at the Liu Institute for the Study of Global Issues.
Angus Reid was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and received his early education in Vancouver. He earned a B.A. and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Manitoba, and in 1974 he received a Ph.D. in Sociology from Carleton University in Ottawa. A speaker, commentator and author, Dr. Reid has written numerous articles and columns for newspapers and trade journals. In 1996 Doubleday published his Canadian best-seller; Shakedown: How the New Economy is Changing our Lives.
As a consultant, Angus works with a wide range of corporations, government agencies, and special interest groups. In addition, he serves as a member of the advisory board of Nestle Canada, Rick Hansen Enterprises, and Cityfone Communications. Dr. Reid is also chairman of the advisory board of the Canada Institute of the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, DC. Among his many philanthropic activities, he directs the Angus Reid Foundation and serves as chair of the CKNW Children's Fund.
Angus has been the recipient of a Canada Council Doctoral Fellowship, the National Health Research Scholar Award, the Davidson Dunton Award for Carleton University's graduate of the year, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Services Category), the annual award of distinction from the Canadian Public Affairs Association, and the Marketer of the Year Award from the American Marketing Association. He holds honorary doctorates from the University of Manitoba (1996) and Simon Fraser University (2002).
Angus Reid lives in West Vancouver with his wife Margaret.

Jim Fletcher
Jim Fletcher is currently a Managing Director with Chrysalix Energy Management. Mr. Fletcher was involved with the Angus Reid Group, as director and later CFO where he managed the sale of the company to Ipsos S.A. of France in 2000.

Jim is an active Director of several not-for-profit and for-profit organizations in Canada and the United States, including Discovery Capital Corporation, and Redlen Technologies. Mr. Fletcher holds a degree in Engineering Physics from Queen's University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Mathew George is responsible for managing TELUS Ventures' US$100 million venture fund and managing all venture investments made on behalf of TELUS. TELUS Ventures is the strategic venture capital arm of TELUS Corporation and invests in emerging U.S. and Canadian based businesses and technologies with a view to accelerate TELUS' strategy of leveraging the convergence of voice, data, IP, and wireless. To-date TELUS Ventures has made 19 venture investments, 10 of which are in Canadian companies and 9 in U.S. companies. His team identifies investment opportunities, structures the venture and private equity investments, actively monitors the portfolio companies and facilitates portfolio liquidity events.
Mathew joined TELUS Ventures in June 2001 from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority where he was responsible for the global co-investment and direct private equity investment activities of ADIA's US$4 billion Private Equity fund. Mathew has also worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Warburg Dillon Read and Barclays de Zoete Wedd both in London and New York. Mathew holds a Masters of Business Management from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commericiales in Paris, with specialization in Analytical Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. His Bachelor of Technology (Honours) degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering is from the Regional Engineering College in Calicut, India.
Mathew serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Apparent Networks (Vancouver, BC), Hostopia (Toronto, ON) and the Arts Club Theatre Company (Vancouver, BC). Mr. George is also a member of the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) Institute and the Vancouver Society of Financial Analysts and is also a CFA charter holder.
